About the Program

Sprinklers, Systems and Fire Protection Solutions focuses on how sprinklers and systems provide unique and targeted solutions to fire protection challenges. This applications-driven program utilizes digital tools and hands-on experiences to explore the advantages of various Viking products and how they address specific challenges. 

Learning Outcomes

Upon completion of this seminar the attendee will be able to:

  • Describe how fire develops and the impact of fuel loads, fuel arrangement, and location. 
  • Utilize digital tools to select the appropriate sprinkler to protect the occupancy or fire challenge.
  • Compare various sprinklers and explain how they address fire challenges. 
  • Explain the applications of wet and dry sprinkler systems. 
  • Explain the applications of pre-action and deluge sprinkler systems. 
  • Perform system testing and troubleshooting. 

Schedule

This program will be held at the Viking Learning Center located at 5150 Beltway Dr SE, Caledonia, MI 49316.

Seminar format will include lectures, activities and hands-on labs and demonstrations. Lunch and refreshments will be provided for each day of the training. 

Individuals participating in this training program are strongly encouraged to wear clothing favorable to hands-on training. Closed toe, closed heel and flat sole shoes are required. 

 

Day 1

8:30 AM to 4:00 PM

  • Anatomy of a Fire Sprinkler
  • Applying Fire Sprinklers
  • Wet and Dry Systems

Day 2

8:30 AM to 4:00 PM

Modules:

  • Deluge, Preaction and Specialty Preaction Systems

  • Specialty Systems & Components
